whenever i think of MJ this piece by Jeff Koons always comes to mind. iv’e seen it many times at SFmoma and it always gives me a chuckle.
Sometime soon, a computer will be able to simulate my brain. Later, there will be a computer that can literally read my mind. We will soon live in a world in which the computing machines are more intellectually powerful than all the human brains on the planet.
i’m reading The Singularity is near by Ray kurzweil right now and it’s blowing my mind. the book was written in 2004 and published in 2005 so i was curious to see how much faster the new super computers have gotten. it seems inconceivable that in just several years there will be a computer fast enough to simulate the human brain, never the less it looks like things are right on track.
